Dying My Hair Cosmic Blue With Schwarzkopf Live

Hey Guys, Happy Monday, lets's be cheery, as it's my Birthday week, plus I surprisingly love a Monday anyway, so double bonus!

I dyed my hair a couple of weeks ago, which is something I've been doing for years, and I always go for the same colour, but this time I slightly switched it up, and I love it, so I wanted to share the results with you beauties.

So for a long, long time I've been dying my hair jet black, I'll use any brand, but it's always been the blackest black in the range, but I've never felt like my hair looked black enough, or it would feel dark for like the first week, but then I'd always look at other peoples hair and felt that theirs looked darker, but then us women are never satisfied with anything on ourselves typically!

I then decided I was going to try a blue/black, I don't know why, I was just feeling adventurous and wanted to try something slightly different, (annoyingly couldn't be too adventurous as I have black hair in my head shots, and plus after dying your hair black, no others colours are going to take to it, unless I went to a salon and did it properly, but let's just say I'm on a box dye budget, plus black is like the easiest colour to go, so doing it at home has never been an issue.

So over the years I've used and trusted Schwarzkopf Live and I noticed they had a colour called Cosmic Blue (090), which looked just perfect, so into my basket it went, and I managed to pick it up on offer for £4.00 from Superdrug. BARGAIN!

The leaflet includes and easy step by step guide on how to dye your hair, whether it's a first time application or a root regrowth application, so it's really simple to follow.

I have medium - long length hair, and I still managed to have leftover product in the bottle afterwards, and I used and extremely generous amount on my hair.

Once I'd applied it all over the hair, I separated it into two buns and left the dye on my hair for around 30 minutes, which is the required time to do so.

I love that the texture is quite creamy, so it doesn't run down your hairline or onto your neck, which I have experienced previously, so it's really tidy and easy to work with.

After rinsing out the dye, and using the after treatment, I then styled my hair as usual.

My hair felt so soft and full of vibrant colour, I was instantly in love. Due to previously dying my hair black, I was never going to have the 'bluest' colour in my hair, but there was a subtle tint in there, but what was most important to me was that it looked really, really black!

I mean the thought of going to a salon and getting it done so there's a strong hint of blue in there does excite me massively, but for years I've just been wanting my hair to look super black, which granted it has looked black, but it's never made me feel like a jet black, and right now I do, so I'm loving it!

Aghh, I'm literally so obsessed with how dark it is, so thank you Schwarzkopf for bringing out this Cosmic Blue coloured box dye at such an inexpensive price, blue/black is definitely now my go to colour!

Why I Can't Live Without These Mac Cosmetics Makeup Essentials

Happy FriYAY you gorgeous people!

It's the weekend, and I'm out for a few with the girlies tonight, so I felt I needed to share with you guys, some of the Mac Cosmetics makeup products I cannot live without!

My Mac Essentials

So for foundation I use the Mac Studio Sculpt SPF 15, this is a buildable medium to full coverage foundation with a satin finish, I use this one because I do suffer with dry skin, so a dewy foundation is always better for me, I use the shade NC40.

I have the Mac Prep & Prime Fix + Finishing Mist, this scent is Lavender and it smells divine, however it was sadly limited edition, so it's currently unavailable. I use this to set my face once all my make up is done, however I can also use it to dampen my beauty sponge, to blend my foundation and concealer.

I use the Mac Pro Longer Concealer in the shade NC30 for my under eyes, this has buildable coverage which is great as I suffer with dark circles, and I also use one a few shades lighter as this gives me a highlighted effect as I blend it out above the cheek bones.

Moving on to Powders...

So to set my foundation, I use the Mac Studio Fix Powder + Foundation, this is in the shade NC43. This powder has full coverage and leaves me with a smooth velvety finish, and covers and blends any imperfections, leaving me looking matte, but not dry or cakey.

For contour I actually use a blush, this is the Mac Powder Blush, in the shade Format, and this is a frost finish blush. I think it's the perfect colour for contour as it's not too warm or too cool. I apply this to the hollows of my cheeks, my forehead/temple area and my jaw line, and sometimes I add a tiny bit to the sides of my nose, but I really don't need to as my nose is quite thin anyway, and then I'll blend it out with the powder used above.

For years I've been applying my blush before applying highlight, whereas now I sometimes switch it up, but a current fave blush of mine is the Mac Mineralize Blush, in the shade Dainty. This is a baked blush, so it does have an ever so slight shimmer effect to it, and they do say if you use a shimmer highlight, you should go for a matte blush, but life is too short to follow the rules, and I love a bit of sparkle! My contour is matte, and if I use a bronzer, it's a matte shade, so all is good in my opinion! If I do apply a bronzer I'll use it after I've applied the contour, then go in with my highlight, and then sweep my blush over the top.

So this has been a favourite highlighter of mine literally since I was introduced to the craze of highlighting! It's soooo beautiful! This is the Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in the shade Global Glow. Now this is actually a powder that you can either gently dust all over the skin, or just use it to add highlights to the high points of your face. Now I must admit I've never tried it all over the face, but it's definitely something I might try and experiment with in the Summer months. This colour is just perfect for me, as I'm Mixed Race I already have tanned, warm skin, so adding this golden shimmer to the top of my cheekbones just compliments my complexion. I'd love to try the lighter shades, like Soft and Gentle, or really pushing the boat out and trying Lightscapade for a more pink/beige highlight, but I've always stuck to the warm highlight because I know it works with my skin tone.

So recently I picked up this powder, as I've been obsessed with the other Mineralize products, so I just felt I had to try this one and see how it turns out...

Well turns out, I love it! This is the Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, I went for the shade Medium Tan, which is probably ever so slightly a tad dark for me, but I've just been on holiday so it's kind of okay! This is supposed to be a light coverage, but I'm not going to lie, I clearly apply loads, and top it up throughout the day, and it is definitely full coverage on me! Maybe that's why it feels a bit darker on the skin than it looks because I apply so much, but nonetheless I love it, and I'm so glad I picked it up!

So a final favourite of mine that I felt I needed to add in, is this Mac Pro Longwear Paint Pot. So I initially went into the Mac store looking for this in the shade Painterly, as I actually wanted to use it as an eyeshadow base, or wear it alone to just smooth over my eyelids, however I was overwhelmed by all the colours, and came out with a completely different colour and finish. So this shade is called Chilled On Ice, and it's a lovely pearlescent colour, and is described as a 'frosted white gold'. This colour looks beautiful on its own, but actually when it's used as an eyeshadow base, it literally makes any colour I use over the top of it pop like crazy, which is just perfect! So I'm glad I walked out with this one, however I do still need to go back and pick up the shade Painterly!

I hope you found this post useful and enjoyed finding out some of my essential makeup products! My friend the other day was like what is your favourite makeup brand, and at first I couldn't answer because I like so many products from different brands, but I shortly came to the realisation that my core products that I cannot live without are pretty much all from Mac Cosmetics, so in honour of that thought I had to finally create this blogpost, so I could let you all know my love of Mac!

I know Mac isn't the most inexpensive brand, but I do however have a Mac Pro card because of my job, so I do get myself a wee little discount, so it all adds up in the long run and works out quite reasonable, plus I've been so happy with the quality of the products I've used, that I don't mind spending that little extra :)

A few of my favourite Body Butters from The Body Shop

Hello Beauties and Happy 'Almost The Weekend' Thursday! YAY!

Today I wanted to share with you some of my fave Body Butters, if you know me well, or have watched my YouTube channel, you'll know I'm a moisturising cream addict, literally in my monthly favourites, it would be all I'd talk about, so I thought I'd spend today sharing my love of The Body Shop's Body Butters!

Wild Argon Oil Body Butter

My skin gets so dry, especially in the Winter months, and this moisturiser just gives me life! The texture is so soft, but at the same time so rich, that my skin feels like it's smothered in Heaven! It's not too thick that it's greasy, but the consistency is just enough to last on your body all day, or throughout the night, giving you endless hydration, and the scent is beautiful too. The product feels so nice on the skin, and this has been my firm favourite for well over a year now, and uses Community Fair Trade Argon Oil from Morocco.

Shea Body Butter

The texture is very glossy and moisturising, but again, not greasy. The scent is so pretty, but not too strong, I actually find it really relaxing, and I believe this was one of the first Body Butters I ever tried, so it reminds me of the past, and the smell makes me feel homely! This cream uses Community Fair Trade Shea butter from Ghana. The Body Butter lasts all day, leaving me feeling soft and hydrated, and very luxurious.

Virgin Mojito Body Butter

Now this Body Butter excites me so much, that it literally makes me tingle inside... seriously! The scent is do die for! It is so refreshing and stunning and bright, I love everything about it! My lovely partner last year, surprised me with the whole Virgin Mojito range (that's another blogpost to come, once I get my bum in gear!) and I adored every product in the selection, even the ice bucket was a delightful addition to the range, which looks lovely in my kitchen! However back to the body butter, so this one is aimed for normal skin, so it is still very moisturising, but it is a lighter texture, which is perfect for the summer months, but if I have any form of suntan, my skin does go quite dry, so I still like to use my 'all year round' (for me anyway) Body Butters above, and then top this up throughout the day to freshen up. It isn't necesserily needed that often, but the scent makes me feel so summery and exotic, that I would apply it just to get that 'feel good' burst of emotion! This butter contains lime and mint extracts from the Caribbean, and it literally is a holiday in a tub!

Hemp Body Butter

So I'm always browsing through The Body Shop website, thinking what can I try this time, as they've never let me down. I can't believe I only started purchasing from them about a year and a half ago, literally my Grandma was like I need to go to The Body Shop, I need this from The Body Shop, so I was like I need to try me some of this 'The Body Shop' hype, so months on and let's say I haven't turned back and it's one of my favourite stores, thanks Granny! However this online shop, I came across this Hemp range, and I was reading all the reviews and people were saying that the cracked/dry skin on their legs disappeared within days etc, and fortunately my legs aren't that dry, but they do get dry, so obvz I was like I need to try some of this 'Hemp' dream cream, so in the basket it went... And guess what, I'm a fan!

The product is extremely moisturising, although the cream is not too thick, it does however have the strongest medical smell! I mean maybe that's the Hemp, I don't know what hemp is, but it could be that, but for me I actually find the scent a good thing, I feel like I've purchased it from my GP, does that make any sense!? Like it feels like medicine, even my dog, when I first swatched a little patch on my arm, was smelling it with me! So this cream I do advise for night time use, which is also great because your body can soak it up and relax over night, and if I use it in the day, I'll only use it on my legs if I'm wearing jeans, so hopefully the scent doesn't seep through! But again guys it's not a bad smell at all, it's just not perfume worthy, like the way I feel about the Virgin Mojito scent! Another great product that I love using in my night time routine, and in the morning it's still there, it hasn't soaked in and disappeared, it's still moisturising and protecting the skin. The Hemp seed oil is from England, and the shea and cocoa butter are from Ghana.

Smoky Poppy Body Butter

This again, is another lovely scented product, which I'm pretty sure is the case for every item going in The Body Shop, now annoyingly I'm useless at describing scents, so I cannot describe it to you whatsoever, but..... It's nice!! Sorry guys, literally got no descriptive words at all, welcome to Only In Chanelle's World!! I mean I've never smelt a poppy, so maybe it's along those lines, however it's not very floral, and not overpowering at all, just the right amount of scent! Yes I did just write that! This is hydration for normal skin, so this for me is perfect for Autumn and Spring months, where it's not too cold, but you still get a good solid moisturising from the product. I think this is from a limited range, in association with Remembrance Day, however if you do find it in store, I believe you can get a very good discount on it, as I had also picked up other lotions and potions in the range at a bargain price! (Also I believe the Virgin Mojito range was limited too - sorry guys) This product contains hand-harvested poppy extract from Turkey.

Coconut Shimmer Body Butter

This Body Butter is for normal to dry skin, and contains a subtle shimmer, now I think the shimmer is quite strong, well okay so on the skin it looks beautiful and reflects in the daylight and does give you a gorgeous glow while moisturising at the same time, so what more could you ask for, however I once remember smothering myself in it for a night out, and then I wore black, and let's just say it kind of got everywhere! I mean you know me, I clearly would have over moisturised, so that's why, but I do remember it being everywhere at the time, but it washed out easily, so it was fine. So I feel this butter would be perfect for the Summer months, where maybe you're wearing shorts, or you're lucky enough to be partying in Ibiza, where you can look after your skin with the cream, but also have that golden glow (but please use an SPF too if you're in the sunshine), but honestly it does make your skin look radiant and healthy, and it's a great product, just maybe don't wear black with it, or go over the top with how much you use, like I love to! This has Fair Trade Community shea and cocoa butter from Ghana.

So these are some of the Body Butters I've been loving, I've just got my hands on the Spa of the World - Hawaiian Kukui Cream, so I'm soooo excited to start using that, as it has another gorgeous scent, and is super moisturising.

The Body Butters usually retail at £14.00 however The Body Shop always has offers on, and I tend to pick mine up in the 40% off sale, which makes them an absolute bargain!

GRWM Valentines Day | Glam Makeup

Hey Girls & Boys!

I hope Valentines has been wonderful for you all, and you shared it with a loved one, wether that was a partner, a family member, friends or even your pet! I just hope it was a special day!

I realise I haven't posted in a long, long time on my blog, but I've really been trying to up my YouTube game, and create more content on there, but I also keep forgetting that I can share some of the videos to my blog... So it makes sense to do so right!?

TomTom Spark Launch At Ministry Of Sound

Happy Monday Ya'll!

Ohhh last week has been a busy week, and I really wanted to show you guys what I'd been up to, as after all this is 'Only In Chanelle's World' but I've just been too busy to keep up and I'm off on my hols in the morning, so lets see if I can update you with a few of my shenanigans from last week!

On Wednesday the 30th of September I entered a Twitter competition to win tickets to the launch of the new TomTom Spark and I was fortunate enough to win! So firstly I'd like to say thank you to TomTom for picking me!

I was a manic rush from there, I found out I won just after 5pm, and the event started at 8:30pm that night, and we all know how long it takes a girl to get ready! My partner was on his was home from work, and I phoned him and was like, 'I'm getting in the shower, we're going to a party!' I didn't really give him much choice, but thankfully he didn't decline, and we spent the evening getting ready together, which was nice as we don't tend to party together often, or party generally either!

The Watch

So the event was to celebrate the launch of the new TomTom Spark. This is a new watch, that not only is a fitness GPS watch, but it now has an added element of music! Ministry Of Sound and TomTom have come together to create this fantastic watch bringing cardio and music together. It features space for over 500 songs, that you can transfer easily from iTunes or Windows Media Player, and uses Bluetooth to play the music straight into wireless earphones, so no getting caught on wires, which is definitely something I'd do! It also tracks your activity constantly, includes a heart rate monitor, and tracks all different kinds of sporting activities.

The main thing that attracts me to this product is the music element! For me, music is motivation. I could be sat down, and a great song can come on that gives me an instant burst of energy, and that then makes me want to get up and move, wether that means dance, exercise, or just get something done around the house, but whatever it is, it's keeping me active, busy and motivated which is extremely important in life, and then that continues on into making me feel positive and upbeat, so whichever way I see it, music always makes me feel good, (minus the few songs that make you feel emotional) so either way music is a massive impact on most people's lives and daily activities and emotions, so this collaboration of easily connecting music with health and fitness tracking is a real bonus in my eyes!

So enough about the product, (which I advise you all to check out on the links above) lets get on to the actual launch!

The Launch

The event launch was held at the Ministry Of Sound Club in London, which obviously is just perfectly fitting, and it was just a fabulous night!!

We arrived shortly after 9pm and met Kelly from TomTom Social Media, who I'd been in contact with throughout the evening, who was an absolute delight, so full of energy and wanted to make sure we had a great night, which we did!

I hadn't been to the club before so I feel the need to mention that my first highlight of the place is that the female toilets are pink!! I know that sounds extreme, but I love pink, so I walked into them with a huge smile on my face, and not only that, they were huge and very clean so I was literally impressed from the get go, although lets move on from the toilets!

I also loved the ginormous glitter ball on the ceiling too and the fact you could witness the party from a balcony type of platform upstairs too. There was an open bar, so literally what was there not to enjoy! We got a few drinks, by few I mean a lot, you know free bar and all that, (thanks guys) and literally partied the night away. After wondering around the dance floor, snapping a few pics by the backdrop, we found a little corner at the back where we could dance to our hearts content and also sit and chillax too!

So all in all it was a great night, and we stayed till the very end, so a massive thank you to TomTom and Ministry Of Sound for having us!

As the club wasn't too far from home, we took a lovely stroll afterwards heading in the direction of home looking for food, and then hopped on a passing bus for the last few minutes of the journey that took us right to our door, so everything turned out just perfect!
